BUNDEENA RSL IS CURRENTLY CLOSED DUE TO FIRE DAMAGE ON 12.02.15.

STAY TUNED FOR THE LATEST UPDATES REGARDING OUR RE-OPENING IN EARLY 2018!

LATEST UPDATE - 23.06.17

Bundeena Community and Services Club – the new name for the Bundeena RSL Club – aims to be up and running by early 2018 following the resounding vote by members to amalgamate with Cabramatta Bowling Club.

While there has been no apparent activity on the burnt-out Loftus St site since the vote in April, behind the scenes efforts to get your club back at the heart of the community have been proceeding apace.

These include:

·       Submitting the proposed amalgamation to the Office of Liquor & Gaming NSW. The comment period has now closed and we are hoping for a swift decision to conclude the amalgamation.

·       Submitting a S96 variation to the existing development consent to Sutherland Shire Council (SSC). This requests some internal layout changes and the excavation of the sub floor to provide additional floor space. The notification period has now closed (with no objections) and we are once again hoping SSC will approve these modifications.

·       Several meetings between the clubs’ management and our builder, architect and quantity surveyor to work out the most efficient way to get the club back up and running.

Work to bring the premises to lock-up stage will commence in early July. These works should take approximately 8 weeks to complete and will be funded by the Memorial Club.

The remainder of the work will be funded by Cabramatta Bowling Club once the amalgamation is formally approved.

Discussions with the builder indicate that, without any major problems, the club should be open for business by early next year.

Club President Graeme Kelly said he was excited by the pace of the progress to get the club back for Bundeena after a long and frustrating period.

“Members will start to see things happening very soon and we’re all looking forward to sitting down together for a drink and a yarn in the Shire’s best little club,” he said.
